Status of the app when entering the challenge

I think I read about it somewhere when I first came to this website but have not been able to find any information about what should be the status of the app when entering the challenge. Does it have to be available in the App Store? or can it be in-progress or 'finished but not released yet' state? Please let me know.

    Hi there,

    The app does not need to be publicly available in an app store to be eligible. It can be in-progress or finished but not released yet. More information is available in the Rules section. Hope that helps.

    Thanks Greg. I would be very very close to be done by the end of the month but with couple of weeks needed for App Store approval it will not be available in the app store so just wanted to clarify. It is a relief. Thanks!

    sure. Just out of curiosity, how many submissions have been received or are expected before the deadline ? I hope it was a success in terms of extending the reach of Appcelerator. It is just awesome platform.
